Guinny Goes Jumping

Yikes, it's obvious we've all been too busy riding (among other things) to keep up with the horses' blog, but we did want to post this latest video of a few seconds of Big G showing how much he love to fly. Like his momma E, he sure has a set of wings! See for yourself:

We still have our work cut out for us (haven't yet schooled cross-country) but we have our sights set on a 3-day event in Washington state the first weekend in September. His dressage is thankfully quite good anyway (minus a few walking straight issues) but he's a rockstar in stadium jumping. We've got our fingers crossed that when he runs cross-country he'll be in touch with his inner bold Thoroughbred....

GUINNESS
Sired by Gargoyle, who was by the famous stallion Goodwill, our Guinness is an extremely handsome 16.1 hand Hanoverian/Thoroughbred who's registered as a Canadian Sport Horse. His dam was a talented dressage horse who has produced many famous offspring. Guinny has the perfect combination of genetics, talent, intelligence, athleticism and kindness. His work ethic is second to none and his favorite pastimes include removing fly masks from his stablemates and relocating the plastic bouquets affixed to arena jumps. His trot is huge and his canter a dream. He is schooling Second Level dressage and jumping cleanly a 3'6" course. We do hope he loves jumping cross-country as there is lots of it in his future with us as an eventer!

JESSIE
Our sweet beauty queen, Jessie (aka Overdrive) joined our family a few months after her handsome brother. She and her girl had been a successful eventing team for a number of years and we are so thankful to have been the chosen ones to give her a new forever home. She's incredibly athletic and quite bold, and around our barn she rules the roost. We don't know much about her past other than that she was an Advanced event prospect in Kentucky and we're keen to see how far she'd like to compete with us. She knows a lot more than we do at this point, and we're hoping she is willing to lead her slightly timid brother calmly forward into situations in which he otherwise might hesitate. She's a fiery little red bundle who'll jump a freight train if asked but who's sweet enough to tolerate the less talented equestrians among us.
